Saturday always win(e)s

April 2, 2012

Busy day!

In addition to the usual laundry/cleaning that happens on the weekends, I went to Kira’s yoga class, went to the farmers’ market, made avocado pesto pasta…CIMG0793

… went to soccer practice (it even was sunny for a while, but that doesn’t mean it stopped raining), and then hopped in the car with Emma and Michelle and went wine tasting with Jeff, Erica, Anna, and Matt.

We started at Domaine Meriwether, which specializes in sparkling wines.CIMG0797

I almost kidnapped a border collie puppy who was running around hugging us.

There are so many places so close to Eugene that I had no idea existed!  The bubbly wines were tasty, and I liked their pinot noir as well, but I couldn’t tell if that was because it was really good or just because it was finally a red wine.  Probably some of both.

We went to Sarver next, which totally lived up to expectations.  I’ve heard great things about this place, and neither the wines nor the view disappointed.CIMG0806

I walked out with these two bottles.  And then consumed the pinot noir with Ed and Maggie since they invited me over for pizza Smile
