Another Thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat

November 27, 2011

Round two:  Friday.

Another sunny morning, so after feeding Rick and Tabby’s ducks with Sarah, I headed over to Spencer’s Butte for a quick hike.

(This is a house across the street from Rick and Tabby’s that I always think is pretty – an old farmhouse with a giant tree.)

I went up the shortest (0.6 mi) and steepest path and came back down the normal way (another 1.1 mi).CIMG0523

So refreshing!  I was there for about an hour, with frequent stops for pictures and tired legs.

We went over Zach and Tyler’s for a second Thanksgiving that evening.

It was incredible – Tyler made everything from scratch.  Turkey, stuffing, gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes, rolls, mashed potatoes and parsnips… the sweet potatoes were one of the highlights.  And the desserts were amazing as well – pumpkin pie, apple cobbler, and bread pudding.  Thanks so much to them and for everyone else who made delicious food this weekend!

On Sunday after yoga and Off the Waffle (this is quickly becoming a weekly tradition), Sarah and I went to Sweet Cheeks winery with Michelle and Emma.  They were having a sale with live music and a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN with fruit.  We brought some cheese and bread/crackers, and after doing the usual tasting, we sat down with a bottle of shiraz that was fantastic.

What a great holiday weekend!  Now it’s time for the final push until going home for Christmas…
